Next up we stopped by the magnificent grounds of the Imperial Castle.
They were wide, spacious, and full of interesting trees over flowers and plants.
We took full advantage of the cherry blossoms while we can - It's amazing that a whole country come together to celebrate something so simple.
A little bit peaceful.
The Imperial Palace itself is huge. You can't enter without prior appointment, so this is just the outside, And the photo makes it seem small...
The imperial gates are actually quite modest.
It was getting a little later by now, so we decided to head towards Nijo castle!
On the way we walked past the most neon lit up building ever, and it was because it housed rows and rows of arcade machines - intense!
Something a little different, is the amount of flower shops we see in each place we visit. Took a couple of photos as the displays are wonderful and come right out into the street, a bit of a pavement garden to entice you in.
We also passed a wall with a number of framed images. They looked like woodblock prints, and seem to tell a story. (We put a ten yen coin in too!)
We also found another depicting the history of the 10 yen note. They seem to be in force at various points in history.
To be continued...
