Oh? Deer!

Nara was the port of call for today!

Why?

This is why!

It was a bit of a walk to the park we were aiming for, and on the way we found the biggest arcade ever...

The first floor was all the grabber machines... So many crazy prizes, but no we didn't win them, but wasted a few yen trying!

Then.. there were four floors of the craziest types.

Gamers seriously must come here to practise for whatever the equivalent of the gamer olympics is, as I have never seen people move so fast on guitar hero style machines - pretty awesome!

Either that or I'm just easily impressed :)

We had a go at an old school asteroid style game - Ryan lost at this one xD

So we headed out to the park..where we were supposed to be going in the first place.

Along the way - another temple with the usual motifs..

And the prettiest building for a visitor information centre!

We did make it to the park too!

Only about 1200 tame deer wandering around.

They were pretty friendly, and loved the deer crackers on sale! (not for human consumption!)

A few more incase you REALLY like the deer!

These two weren't talking to each other... xD

It wasn't all deer... There were pretty views.

A famous 5-storied pagoda... and it's younger sibling the three storied pagoda!

A shrine, although we are not sure what this one is called. But it had many many little wooden plaques containing people's wishes.

One of my favourite parts - this little seating area, covered in purple flowers, and the smell was really amazing. I could have stayed all day.

BUT

It started to rain, so we headed back pretty fast.

And we saw this cute little clay model on our way back.
