Tokyo here we come!
We gave the bike keys back to Rateni (always an interesting conversation), said goodbye to our mini flat and loaded up.
Two sets of 20 minute walks, and a train later we made it to Kyoto station, ready to set off on the famous bullet train!
It was pretty amazing. A plane on a track, but with 5 times more leg room :)
Another subway later, we finally made it to Makuharihongo station, ready to follow the map to the new place.
An hour later we were still walking (well by this point I hated my backpack and I was trailing behind). We fortunately ran into who was likely to be the only English speaker in the town (she used to live in New York for 16 years) and eventually found the place with assisted help.
This is me BEFORE I felt like I was carrying an elephant.
Whew! A bit of a crazy day, but we made it, and this place is much bigger/has kitchen stuff, worth it.
