A shrine to Japanese Water Goblins complete with preserved body parts.
So it sounds kind of creepy.
In reality Sougenji Kappa-Dera temple is actually quite different to what you might imagine.
Meet the two tiny statues causing all the fuss - we nick named them - oh so originally, Kappa and Dappa.
Only worth the hunt between houses for a tiny shrine for comical value :)
Luckily we were also pretty close to the museum!
I wanted to catch a photo of some of the people wearing gorgeous kimonos!
The museum is wonderfully laid out - and even has floor maps
The museum exhibits were great and so spacious it makes each item look a little more special.
A bit of building and dress up...
Next Stop?
Ueno Park where we walked into a parade! (We seem to do this rather a lot)
Sorry - possibly the worst video taken ever.
A few sights through the park (which is huge).
Then we discovered a full on lake with boat - YES!
We nearly went for rowing boats, but decided to 'share' the effort on a Pedalow swan!
Eeek Number 13.. it was not so lucky for me, as Ryan has an aversion to pedalling....
It only took me 6 1/2 years to figure out.
Ryan has serious boat rage. It may have been ok if we have were not in an open air boat, in close proximity of all other open air boats.
Super funny/ mortifying! Just feel sorry for these guys.Yes the ducks AND other pedalow drivers who may struggle with their wheel turning prowes
