A few final bits and bob that may have been left out!
Rice animals. Painstakingly and beautifully flavourless. I dragged Ryan across a store when i actually found multiple tiny moulds specifically for making rice animal parts :D
Underwear for men is something else...
Many restaurants (mainly the ones we would go to for lunch) do not have the kind of waiter service where someone comes to check on you every 20 seconds.
Instead there is an embarrassing process of having to press a button for attention.
This button will not quietly alert the kitchen. Oh no.
It is more likely to have a loud DING-DONG which will reverberate around the room, letting everyone know you are impatiently waiting for attention.
We officially have photos of Ducks in EVERY country we have visited together. I wonder if they are as global as people?
Pests.
These can be an issue to say the least. A few times we have seen huge looking wasps. When I say huge, I mean these guys and about 5/6 times as big. I Googled. They are freaking killer hornets!
Suzumebachi it even means sparrow-bee.
We have seen them during our more 'country-side' walks, and it may not be them, as there are lots of huge bee types, and other things. But I wouldn't take a chance on that.
Yikes!
In the UK we would pay 100 yes (less than a pound) for a bag of sweets.
In Japan, organisation is key.
You will get your sweets in five individual bags, packaged according to flavour - no extra charge for the extra packaging, except that you have to recycle it.
I may have mentioned this right at the start somewhere.
Pots of flakes on the table are common.
Only attempt to eat of you are a fish-flavour-fan!
Signs are prevalent, some how to use the toilet - no kidding! To how to fall properly on wet surfaces.
Perhaps time for us to head back as we found this funnier than the average person would.
Peach flavouring.
Does that happen at home? If it does, I missed it massively in life.
Beer, Tea, Juice... yet not one peach.
Renting cars seems to be pretty popular. You can have any from a number of outlets.
One rule. Thou Shalt Choose A White Car - some blue allowed.
Rice running short? No problem!
