Tokushima Sunshine

Our last real day in Tokushima, so we went off for a wander, pretty much just to see what we found in the general direction of the park.

The gardens themselves were lovely. (Scroll through for plant and stuff).

We did come across an old preserved train and station which was ultra cute. Wish I could read Japanese, but we got from it that this was the old Tokushima line.

Plenty of bits of animals we found which we don;t usually notice so much. Geckos, Crazy spiders (AVOID) a praying mantis, pandas (ok, perhaps not pandas!).

When you find a number of intriguing stairs. Do you:

A) Think "hundreds of stairs in the blazing heat. We MUST see whats at the top - it has to be something awesome!

B) Ha, who wants to waste an hour hiking up stairs when there is no indication of whats at the top?

C) wait at the bottom for someone else to come down to determine it popularity.

Option A every time!

This was just the beginning of many many many more.

We did find a pretty view halfway up!

But we we made the top, it was less 'desirable'.

Next, shade needed!

It was hot. Super hot, so we sought shade in a museum.

There was an English guide book which was great, and we spent ages reading about the history of Tokushima castle, as to be honest, the guidebook ws more interesting than most of the exhibits in all three of the rooms.

We sat down at the end, and were approached by a Japanese lady, speaking rapid Japanese and some miming.

We were readily supplied with a large tag and pens, and gestured to write down something to put on s tree/plant thing.

Luckily the tree-plant was sporting a number of these tags, all in Japanese. When we asked what to write, it took a while to understand that we would never find out until we learn to speak Japanese... so not likely :)

Oh well - wild guess time! I hope you enjoy our messages Tokushima :)
