The next big move!
You might think it's totally easier to get to Spain than Japan.
Nope. Not at all.
Still took us 12 hours to make it... No wonder Thailand/Other random far away places suddenly became popular for weekend holidays!
Any way we set off bags in tow.
Yes, some people did look at us, but I suppose it does seem excessive baggage to take to Malaga.
Flight down. (No need for more aeroplane photos). Bus to go. I had to test my Spanish out buying the tickets - YES!
We did go to the wrong stop, but some Irish sounding Spanish guy asked us where we were going- we were at the local stop for buses heading into the mountains. We obviously do not look like locals :)
We did find it but the bus was kinda creepily quiet.
I may look mysteriously tanned already.
Of course this is the fantastic result BEFORE I washed it off (Yes Spray Tan)
The orangey lighting sets it off beautifully xD
Back to the bus trip, there were some lovely views to entertain us for a couple of hours.
No wonder Andalusia is home to so many expats.
We were lucky. Our apartment is right in the centre of the city, and so is the bus stop. This meant we were totally early, and had to sit outside the door for a while. I HAD to take this...
Ok, the hint is: Alquileres means TO RENT.
Well I think it does, and I haven't checked, so if it doesn't don't tell me because it still cracks me up :)
The flat is beautiful!
As we were shown around but the landlords mum, Anna-Rosia, I spoke back in Spanish. Slight mistake.
What followed was a 20 minute rapid intake of Spanish, and I mainly grasped various meanings from random words and what she was doing. Once that was over, I then had to try to relay to Ryan the important bits. Ha!
We popped out to the supermarket (I would call it a shop) to get some parma ham and baguettes for dinner. Anna-Rosia had shown me how to use the key, I had shown Ryan it totally didn't stick between us.
So 10 minutes later of turning the key both ways. All the way around.
We decided that we were definitely locked out.
Hmmm. We called, text and Airbnb messaged Jesus, (yes that's our host) but no response.
I went to grab drinks and we sat on a step a while longer until we got a call back from Jesus.
Just as he was about to come out to fix it....
I decided to go for it one more time, the lock clicked into place and instantly worked. Typical!
