Today is a sweep up day, to go and visit the actual attractions inside of ronda rather than wandering around everywhere else but.
Top of the list is the water mines under the casa del rey moro.
It was forged by Ronda’s King Abomelic at the beginning of the 14th century, basically to protect the water supplies. Also rumoured to hold the King's gold! Interestingly, Ronda was an independent Islamic Kingdom at that time too.
Along the route to the mines, some people have started adding locks to the iron railings with carvings on them.
The first thing we were confronted with:
In the super pretty, but quite tiny gardens
These are not part of the gardens, but the surrounding walkways, I am not sure if they are part of the same structures or not.
Inside there are many many stairs. Ah that old enemy. ref: Kunf fu panda ;)
At the end, we found the mysterious opening we had seen a few weeks earlier! No we know what the funny houses built into the mountain are!
Some pretty views!
Ryan decided the exit was this way. Straight into the brick/mountain wall..
Some better garden photos :)
Then we took a detour to see the baths, down down down, which only means the opposite on the way back!
The Baths were not that interesting and the ticket guy pretty rude, so we didn't go in and just saw the key bits you can see anyway :)
Totally the best bit!
Much love
