Eataly Italy

New dress (expandable waistline all set!) all ready to go be a a complete foodie!

Ryan had a whole day planned for us yesterday, but as I broke the phone, where the map was stored, we had to wait a day to re-set ourselves up on his phone.

The tour actually costs £80 each - but we also want to visit Florence at the weekend, so we have the cheats version and basically 'copy' the tour to do it ourselves :)

Stop one! Barberini's Patisserie

This place was gorgeous. We were starving, it was way past breakfast time, and we were surrounded by cake.

Yum!

We had expected there to be lots and lots of little places all the way between each stop. This was not really the case. There were some, but the area was mainly residential.

The second stop was Volpetti - famed for cheese and meat! We tried a few 'tasters' and brought a few. Who can resist! We got some Ravioli - I can't tell you what was in it except that it was so good! and some pastry with cheese inside/

Next up was the market to find Romeo's. Apparently this stall was the first of it's kind set up here - i.e. it used to be just fresh produce only.

We had a cup each - meatballs and a chickpea soup with croutons and lettuce in - not bad stuff, although not 'incredible'. Good for a lunch (if you havn;t just eaten lots like us!).

Whew - by now I was FULL.

But there is always room for more :)

Suppli! A new favourite for us. Rice with tomatoe-ish sauces in breadcrumbs. Lovely!

This place is apparently one of the best, and I totally agree. Definitely better than anywhere we have had it yet.

There was a Just eat guy outside - this was inappropriately funny.

Last but not least on our wonderful tour was the desert. Gelato!

Oh Italy will be bad for my waistline!

On our way home we stopped by a huge foodie store near the station

We met a wonderful raw chocolate lady, who was not only full of great advice about which percentage of chocolate suited us best (by advice I mean samples) but gave us Tuscany tips for the weekend too!

Such friendly people here :)

Life is too short not to eat well!

Much Love

x
