No trip to Tuscany would be complete without popping over to see the leaning tower!
Pisa is actually not very interesting in itself. Yes, it is quite nice, and clean and well kept, but the only thing to really do is to go and pose with the tower it seems.
So we did!
And we got through a dummy round of miss-takes
Before we mastered it.
There are a few hundred other people getting in crazy poses and angles, so no-one feels silly!
They also had a Cathedral, - just to mention!
So, after we got our snaps, we headed straight back to the station and moved on to our back-up plan - Lucca.
It is one of Italy's only fully walled cities,
I have to say it is rather pretty!
The photos are not fantastic, but the vibe here was lovely. Relaxed, pretty buildings and built like it expects visitors, except not many visitors were around at this point.
The food was divine!
It seems a bit strange that everyone has the first plate (pasta) and then main course, so we did too! Although we shared the second course :)
This bustling market has all kinds of furniture and home odds and ends. Love it!
The walls of the city were built in the renaissance period, so as it seems with everything create din that era, it not only was functions (defense) but had to be pretty too, and even as soon as it was built, it was used for leisurely strolls around the city.
A great way to see all the pretty views of the city.
Getting OUT of the walls has limited options - and we walked in a few circles to find the exit!
Thank you to this tiny piece of Tuscany!
Much Love
