Road Trip! - Simione

We thought we would have to build up to being able to cycle to lake Garda, but oh no! A day after we arrived in Rivalta we were invited with Simone and Giovanni her husband to see Simione.

We had to wait until last minute that morning to see if the weather would hold - Success!

Today was memorial day in Italy, so everyone had he day off, and we saw a few services in the way in the car.

Looks like we might falter with that no-rain success.

We stopped off at

A small language barrier, I wasn't sure why we stopped, but it seems it was for photos! So we took them obligingly :)

There was also a tray below the bridge we were perched on in the water, and after we all tried several attempts, Ryan got one a cent in the heart!

Yes it was still raining.

Not for long! By the time we arrived it was clear and sunny! Phew!

The town on a peninsular jutting into Lake Garda, so is surrounded by the lake on three sides. The fortress entrance is pretty grand and almost imposing!

We were dropped off, as there were so many people, and driving into the town looked impossible. We went alone as Simone and Giovanni were heading elsewhere for a walk.

We found this: JUST IN CASE we ever cycle this far (45 km each way - eeeek!).

The fruit stand at the entrance was awesome. People flocked to it, probably because every other kind of stand was icecream? The lemons were huge!

The lake also brings in Ducks.

Italy is totally ticked off the list on the mission to see if every country has ducks!

We spend the day wondering mainly, its a really characteristic town, beautiful views and walks,

Lots of interesting shops lining the cobbled streets of the main town itself.

And eating Ice cream on a little jetty :)

The blue? Mmarshmallow flavour!

Pretty town and a pretty day.

Much Love
