So Ryan totally deserves his own foodie post!
Impressed by his cooking efforts of late - taking the food thing seriously once he started running.
Here is how it works.
1. He asks me for a random ingredient in the morning.
2. He makes something with it in.
Simple eh?
Ingredient of the day: Sausages!
Where? Venice
Result: Sausage surprise
Thoughts: LOADS OF FUN and so YUM! We both had a go at making these with Ryan's giant array of ingredients and it worked so well. easy to do too!
Ingredient of the day: Carrots!
Where? Venice
Result: Carrot burgers.
Thoughts? The best! Made with lentil mash, and curried slightly, this was amazing and I would eat anytime. <3
Ingredient of the day: Bacon
Where? Venice
Result: Cheesey bacon pastry puffs, bacon sarnie (pork for bread) and bacon hotcakes...
Thoughts? Woah! overload.
So the pancakes were great - and will make an amazing breakfast with an egg - yum!
The pastry puffs were also great as a lunchtime snack
The pork butties - pork with cheese and bacon sandwiched between was a bit heavy and we couldn't eat it after the overload of food:) (Well, I couldn't anyway!) It was much more or a full dinner by itself.
Ingredient of the day: Asparagus
Where? Venice
Result: Steak with tomato-mash and cream cheese asparagus fritters.
Thoughts? Loves the mash and the asparagus - amazing dishes. The meat felt dull by comparison ha!
Ingredient of the day: Chicken
Where? Venice
Result: Honey and mustard glazed chicken with fresh veg mix
Thoughts? Super light and yummy on a hot day - flavors went really well together
Ingredient of the day: Squash
Where? Venice
Result: Squash Patties with honey dip, pesto and bread, lentil dip and cheeses.
Thoughts? Amazing seeded bread with various dips were the winner here - squash wasn't bad ;)
