Finding Puerto de Mazarron

Our first week in Isla Plana

During the week was a mixture of learning more Spanish, food shop trips, Sitting on the balcony playing cards - we have some pretty views, so spend a lot of time out there.

Getting a huge number of broken things in the flat listed and sent off. They actually came to do the shower.

Hmmmm. Tape. I am kindly assuming there is some kind of glue under there.

And wondering how we have two sets of neighbours, when everywhere else is super quiet.

We spent our first day off on Saturday adventuring to the next town - Puerto de Mazarron!

It's about a 90 minute walk, but the aim was to get a taxi back.

All pretty views along the sea :) I have been photo opportunity deprived all week, so it was time to appreciate the sea!

We discovered a diving cave just outside of Isla Plana, who would have known.

The walk mainly took us along the sea, and I couldn't believe how clear it was.

More surprising were the beautiful empty beaches :)

We saw some fishermen, but the water is pretty clear, surely he can see there are no fish...

The route became a bit more cliff-ish before we reached the next beaches.

Ryan golfing into the sea!

A few pit stops later...

And we made it! A small sea-side town with more English people than Spanish!

The post office and the tourist info centre were closed, but we did find a jet ski festival poster for the next weekend, and most importantly - a Bus time table! After a long wonder and some dinner, it was a long stroll through the waves :)

We were unlucky in finding taxi's so decided to take a different route home to try and avoid a massive hill.

It was a bit like traversing a wasteland, especially when we wondered past an abandoned van.

And when Ryan found a massive ant trail over 12m, it did little to assure that civilisation was near.

The trek ended at last however! :)

Much love
